All We Hold Dear
Paperback; Good

Beautiful, wild Glen Affric in the Scottish highlands is the primary setting of this passionate story about a young girl's search for the truth about her ancestors. The novel, which alternates between the 20th and 19th centuries, opens in 1988 on a small Scottish island where- on her 18th birthday and at the request of her biological mother, Celia Ward, who died many years ago- Eva Crawford is told by her parents that she was adopted as a baby. In a letter to Eva, Celia invites her daughter to learn more about her past by contacting her friend, Eilidh, in Glasgow. There Eilidh gives her Celia's ebony Chinese chest, which contains a journal written by one of Eva's ancestors, Ailsa Rose, in 1882. The journal, which unfolds in sections throughout the novel, depicts the colorful inhabitants in Glen Affric, a place of extraordinary raw beauty.

Paperback; Good

A novel filled with the intimate yearnings and passions of a turbulent family, their lovers and friends, and the extraordinary woman who entered their lives. With these words echoing in her heart, Saylah, born of a white father and Indian mother, set off on a journey that would take her through all the mysteries of the human heart. As a child, she came to know the bounty of the earth and sea, the clear streams, and she guarded the secret wisdom of her close nit Indian people. But when tragedy devastated her loved ones, Saylah was forced to leave her home and enter the world of the Ivys, an English-born family whose European traditions were as strange to her as her spirit world was to them. The Ivys had come to the lush, fertile Pacific Northwest in pursuit of a dream -- to build a paradise of prosperity and freedom. Until Saylah came to them, their dream had been denied. Julian Ivy had a dream of his own. An impatient young man in whom refinement and rage were intertwined, he was drawn to Saylah's healing power and disturbing beauty. Somewhere Lies the Moon
Paperback; Good

Eva Crawford faces the most important decision of her life -- whether to accept a marriage proposal from the only man she has ever loved -- and finds herself in turmoil over her past, and haunted by unsettling dreams. The key to her peace of mind lies where it always has: Glen Affric, the peaceful Scottish Highland sanctuary that has linked the Rose women -- mothers, daughters, and sisters for generations. For Eva, their stories are her legacy of strength, her promise of a hopeful future. For Ena Rose, the daughter of Ailsa Rose, growing up in Glen Affric has been idyllic. Adored by all, Ena is a free spirit who prefers the company of animals to people. She saves lost woodland creatures and heals the injured with herbs, roots, and her instincts. But young womanhood looms; and as she tries desperately, to dodge the challenges before her, Ena faces tormenting questions of the heart -- and a love that can never be. For the wild child who refuses to grow up, the path to adulthood will be fraught with heartache and loss -- but will lead one day to redemption and happiness. Then there are the women whose destinies have unfolded over decades and eras, and whose lives touch others in unseen ways: Mairi Rose, warm and wise, who binds the family together... Ailsa, who found boundless happiness in her daughter Ena, the last living symbol of Ian Fraser's heroism... Wan Lian, who is driven by soul-consuming sorrow and anger at the death of her loved ones in the turbulent politics of the Chinese imperial court... Genevra Townsend, who finds amongst the exotic dangers of the British Raj in India an inner serenity that will allow her to return at last to Glen Affric....
