Get Started
1 Send us an email with the list of books you would like to trade.
Here is what we need to know:
•Title & Author
•Type/Size of Book: regular sized pb, a skinny/series pb (Harlequin or Silhouette makes these) and/or a trade sized pb (larger sized pb's).
- Please send your list in the body of an email. Attachments can only be accepted with prior notice.
- Please identify your email by typing "Trade Books" in the subject line. Subject lines left blank will not be opened.
2 After we take a look at the list, we will let you know which books we are interested in and how much trade credit you will receive for them.
3 If that sounds good to you, let us know. We will then contact you to confirm, and give any further details needed.
4 Ship your books to us via the Post Office. (see shipping info below)
5 After we receive the books, you will be issued a store credit on an eCard to use in our store.

Trade Categories
All trades must be Women's Fiction written by women authors. We do not take non-fiction books.
Women's Fiction includes various genres and sub-genres: Romance, Chick Lit, General Fiction, etc.
At this time, we are not accepting hardcover books or the "skinny" series romance books. On occasion, we will accept newly released "skinny" series romance books.
In general we trade based on the current supply and demand of our inventory, which changes often. There may be some books that we cannot accept for trade, even if they were previously purchased at Better Than Chocolate Book Co.
Book Condition Guidelines
We take great pride in the quality and selection of our books because we know how important that is to you. In return, we expect that same quality in the trades we accept.
We cannot accept any books with the following:
•Loose or missing pages
•Ripped or torn cover
•Ripped or torn pages

When shipping your books, tell the Postal Clerk that you are shipping books and you would like to ship them Media Mail. Media Mail is an inexpensive way to ship books.
Here are some thing to keep in mind when shipping your books to us:
•There is a 25 book minimum trade requirement in order to be reimbursed for shipping.
•We do not reimburse for any materials used in shipping your books to us.
•We cannot reimburse for shipping costs on non-Media Mail packages.
•Please try to ship your books all in one box (if you are able). It helps cut down on shipping costs.
•Use a sturdy box for shipping that will help protect the books.
•Pack books tightly within the box so the books do not move around during shipping.
We recommended that your package have "delivery confirmation" on it. Delivery Confirmation gives you the date & time your package was delivered. The cost is relatively low at .65-.75 per package, which you will be reimbursed for (25 book min.). Better Than Chocolate Book Co. cannot be held liable for any lost or missing packages.
If you would like to pay & print your postage online, you can visit USPS Click-n-Ship, download the program and follow the directions. It's easy and saves you time waiting at the Post Office.
