About Us

Better Than Chocolate Book Co. opened it's online doors in 2005.

The basis for the bookstore is simple:
It's all about a passion for reading. A passion for what's inside each book.

If you are a reader of Romance and Women's Fiction, you have come to depend on these books as an important part of your life. It is a very comforting feeling to know that wherever you go, whatever you do...there is a book waiting for you, right where you left it. Reading about love is.....lovely. I can't think of anything better to read about.

Buying used books enables readers to inexpensively discover new authors while stocking up on their favorites. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to own books. It is that belief that drives me to keep my prices low. So, stock up and enjoy!



But Really, Who Are We?

When you place an order with Better Than Chocolate Book Co., it comes through to me...Jennifer. There are no order fillers, no bookkeepers, no customer service reps, no shipping department- just me. Your books come from a large, temperature-controlled storage unit where I store the books. My office is in my home- so I could be in my pajama's right now, as you read this.

We live in a small town that is about 20 miles South of Portland, Oregon.  My family consists of myself, my husband, and our three boys.  We also have two small dogs that think they are the most important "people" in the house.
